Self-confidence, developing rhetorical abilities, speaking freely in front of the camera, strengthening the ability to use mother tongue and foreign languages... All this can be provided by debate workshops and participation in the debates themselves. These are sufficient arguments for the debates to accompany the educational adventure of young people from the early years of their development. There are many debating styles, and therefore there are many possibilities.
Our association began its debate adventures with organizing Oxford debates during various local and international events. Regardless of the main topic of our action, there was always a moment to exchange arguments on topics important to young people in a solemn, official atmosphere. With every next activity, we tried to modify the structure of the debates so that they were as close as possible to the needs of a given group (age of participants, language skills, previous experience ...). Eventually, we started building whole youth projects on a debating foundament, which finally allowed us to build our debating club.
Its intention is the implementation of a long-term action plan that will allow youth debates in various forms to be permanently included in the educational landscape of the Lubelskie region of Poland.
